THE FIRST DAYS
The first version of your family exists once.
Beautiful light. Gentle guidance. Quiet moments. Portraits that help you remember not only what your baby looked like, but what it felt like to hold them close.
CHAPTER 2
NEWBORN
What I hope you'll remember most is what it felt like to love them in these first days.
The newborn stage has a way of blurring together. The days are long, the nights are even longer, and before you know it, the tiny details begin to change. The way they curled into your chest. Their sleepy stretches. The weight of them in your arms.
My studio is designed to slow everything down. With beautiful natural light, a calm pace, and gentle guidance, we'll create space for you to simply be together while I preserve the beginning of your family's story.
These portraits aren't about perfect poses. They're about the first version of your family. The one you'll never have again.

MY PROCESS
PLAN
Before your session, I want to know everything and help plan every detail. Who are we photographing, how you hope the photographs will feel, what you will wear, and where the finished artwork may live. Every choice is made with the final photographs in mind.
CREATE
With three children of my own and more than 25 years photographing newborns, caring for babies comes naturally to me. I'll gently guide your family throughout the session while leaving plenty of room for the genuine moments that can't be directed. I especially love photographing siblings as they meet, snuggle, and adore their newest family member. The result is a collection of portraits that celebrates not only your baby, but the family you have become.
LIVE WITH ART
After the session, together we will view your photographs and choose the images and artwork you love most. I will help you design each piece so the portraits become part of your home and family life.
Should you choose a studio or home newborn session?
Why the studio
In the quiet of the studio, everything slows down. Beautiful natural light, soft textures, and a thoughtfully prepared space allow your family to settle in without distraction. There is no rushing, no worrying about a clean house, and no pressure to perform. Just time to hold your baby, soak in these first days, and let me preserve them with honesty and care.
Why your home
There is something deeply meaningful about photographing your family where life is actually unfolding. The nursery, the bedroom, the morning light through your windows, and the quiet corners where you'll spend these first weeks together all become part of your story. Home sessions create portraits filled with warmth, familiarity, and a beautiful sense of place.

FAQ
When should I book my newborn portrait session?
My schedule books up very quickly. I recommend scheduling your session as soon as possible, with a session date falling between 7-10 days of your due date. We will adjust accordingly. Baby’s 3 to 5 weeks old tend to get a bit more fussy. If you miss the first window, it could be worth waiting beyond this second one.
What if my baby cries or won't sleep?
Babies don't have to sleep the entire session to create beautiful portraits. I photograph newborns with patience and experience, following your baby's pace instead of forcing one. We pause for feeding, cuddling, diaper changes, or simply taking a moment whenever needed.
Do offer lifestyle newborn photos in the home?
Absolutely. While I love the serenity and clean modern style of the studio, photographing sessions in your home offers a lifestyle feel you just can’t get in a studio. I also photograph the nursery and outside the home for a full story.
What should we wear?
Once your session is reserved, I'll guide you through every wardrobe decision. Soft, timeless clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the attention on your family's connection. My goal is for your photographs to feel effortless today and timeless decades from now.
Do you photograph posed newborn portraits?
My work is centered around natural connection rather than elaborate posing. Your baby will always be safely supported and comfortably positioned, whether sleeping peacefully or nestled in your arms. The focus is on creating timeless portraits that feel honest and deeply personal.
What if my baby has acne, flaky skin, or scratches?
Almost every newborn has a few little marks during these first weeks. They are completely normal, and I gently retouch temporary blemishes while preserving all the tiny details that make your baby uniquely yours.
Do you provide wraps and blankets?
Yes. I have a carefully curated collection of wraps, blankets, and simple newborn pieces that complement the soft, natural style of my work. Everything is intentionally chosen to keep the focus on your baby rather than the accessories.
How do I prepare for my newborn photos?
The most important role you have will be ensuring baby is very well fed. Once you book your session, I will send you over a full planning guide with a checklist as well as schedule a call to plan out details like styling your session and preparing the family.
How long is a newborn session?
My newborn sessions are approximately 2 hours, but I reserve the morning just in case your bundle of joy needs a little extra attention. To support a calm environment for all, I never rush newborn photos.
Can siblings and grandparents be included?
Absolutely. I love photographing the relationships already surrounding your baby. Whether it's a proud older sibling, grandparents meeting their newest family member, or simply the three of you together, these are often the photographs families treasure most.
Should we choose a studio or in-home session?
Both create beautiful photographs, but they feel different.
Studio sessions are simple, quiet, and filled with beautiful natural light. They remove distractions so the focus stays entirely on your family.
In-home sessions tell the story of these first days where they actually happened. They include the nursery, your favorite chair, tiny details around your home, and the place you'll always remember bringing your baby home to. The only drawback I hear is cleaning the home before the session.
If you’re unsure which is right for you, I’m happy to help you decide.
